Water Vending Machines

Water Vending Machines can really deliver the Profits

Water Vending Machines - Fresh Water from a machine

Water vending is in a large part driven by the cultural differences of peoples coming into the United States from less developed countries. In many countries, the water supply is not secured and monitored as in more developed countries. Hence, the cultural custom is to obtain water through various other means like water stores or equipment located inside or outside a larger supermarket or store location.

The question of water vending however is problematic in the industrialized countries. The people typically have an aversion to the technology that has made them an industrial country. This unease is used by many to enforce the "possibility" that the water supply delivered to homes and apartments is somehow less than safe. This worry is increased with the addition of chemicals such as fluoride into the nations water supply.

It's not the intent of this article to discuss the or argue to benefits or risks of fluoridated water. Still, this concern by a portion of the general population means a market for selling and vending water.

Water vending machines usually are a mini water treatment plant using a variety of technologies including ultra violet and reverse osmosis. The idea is to remove all the solids, chemicals and bacteria in the water, delivering nothing but fresh and absolutely pure water to the customer. The good news about this however is that water vending uses the safe water delivered right from the city tap.

That is, the water or "raw material" used by the water vending machine already is considered safe and drinkable in it's present form. The water merchant can be assured that the water delivered into his machine is drinkable with any bacteria or other water borne virals being well under the what it takes to make anyone ill.

This means that effective water vending only really needs to deliver a product that tastes better, and that means removing the mineral solids from the water.

Water filtration is not difficult and can actually be done in a variety of ways. One of the most rudementary methods is by collecing condensation from a glass or plastic covering over water. The condensation is considered a clean and safe source of water though it's difficult to collect in high enough volume. This method is used only in emergency situations where a potable or drinkable water supply is not available.
