Jobs for Students

Jobs for Students need to be Flexible and Pay Well

It's no secret that many teenagers and even younger students are always on the lookout for ways to make a few extra dollars to make ends meet.

Many students entering their college years need to find some type of job to subsidize the ridiculously high cost of a four-year educational experience. Finding jobs for students attending college is not always easy but if you think out of the box, it's possible to get work without doing the pizza or delivery person route. We're not talking internships but positions that will yield either better money or a great work experience.

Take for example jobs for statisticians. Many smaller companies could use data analysis and even a sigma review of their overall operation. How about a math student offering a business tune-up review where you take the business data and do an analysis of the overall health of the business for a fee.

I know some students who worked tending bar during college. This is among the dream jobs for students but you need to be at least 21 before this type of work is available. A couple even went on to food service and the hospitality industry where the part time job bartending was invaluable experience.

Now how about jobs for 13 14 15 or 16 year olds. Think outside the box here and several ideas come to mind.

If your teen is a technology or computer nut, consider developing a local web site business. If you're in this age group it's a good bet that working for someone else type jobs are few and far between. So create your own.

Now if this isn't your interest, click on the links I've included below for other business ideas that are so much better than just a simple job an paycheck.

Remember: J.O.B stands for Just Over Broke

Create an online local business directory. Getting online is cheap and easy. Within a couple of hours, almost anyone could get up to speed and start an online directory service. Here's the idea:

Think of it as an ongoing job for that younger teen.

Think local as in your immediate neighborhood

Consider what every small business at the local shopping center needs, namely advertising.

Now combine all these and create a local directory service where you, that enterprising 13 14 15 or 16 year old teenager needing a job creates individual web site pages for each business.

They then sell the pages to each business for maybe 10-20 dollars a month including changes in the offering.

Now think through this a minute. If you have a young teenager like 1thirteen or fourteen, they can't drive. This business is local and they can walk or ride their bike.

10-20 dollars a month is cheap for the business so you are more likely to get many businesses to agree to the payment.

Monthly updates gives the 15 or 16 year old budding web master an ongoing income and job on the sites. the updates would probably be easy to do as they're mainly ads.

Advertising to get traffic to the site is done by having your teenagers contact all the real estate agents in the area and put a free ad in their newsletter. Real estate agents are always looking for unique and fresh content for their marketing newsletters.

So what do you have with this idea???

Something even the youngest teenager thirteen and up could easily do. With 20 businesses at 20 dollars a month, the business brings in 400 dollars with total costs about 10 dollars. Advertising is free using real estate newsletters, and everyone gains.

If this isn't a great jobs for students ideas, I don't know what would fit the bill. This job is great for almost anyone with a little initiative and pays much better than most jobs for college and high school students.

So the next time you consider your summer employment while attending school, think outside the box. You may find jobs for students that relate to your specific area of interest or could enhance your interests on the web. Those are the employment opportunities that will help you establish yourself as a professional in the future.
