Gumball Vending Machines

Gumball Vending Machines are an Easy Income to Chew On

Gumball Vending Machines - For the Kid in all of US!

The lowly gumball. Who among us have never savored the joy of putting than penny (or nickel, dime or quarter) into a gumball vending machine full of colorful orbs of candy gum? Just the thought of it brings back memories of childhood and how we manipulated our parents into allowing us the pleasure of this kid friendly treat.

Today of course the gumball vending machine is much more than a simple dispenser of childhood memories but is also considered entertainment. Of course, for that quick bit of entertainment, the cost of the gumball candy has gone up by huge amounts in kid money.

From the early penny candy, the gumball has grown into a large orb of hard coated gum that careens down a maze of tracks down to the waiting child. For all the lights and trip down the rails, the gumball still remains much like it did when you and I were kids.

One good thing from a child's perspective though is that the size of the gumballs have grown along with the entertainment value. This isn't to say however that the small, gumball dispensing vending machines, with their mechanical crank cannot be found.

Typically these throwbacks to yesteryear are grouped together on a cart decorated like the circus or some other happy event. These small vending machines will offer a wide variety of treats including the ubiquitous gumball.

Gumballs are the mainstay of what's called 'bulk" vending. Bulk vending is the identification for products sold that are delivered by a bulk method. That is, the candy or other product comes in a large wholesale type container instead of the more readily identified individual serving retail packages.

What this means is that the vending machine merchant controls not only the price but also how much product is dispensed for that price.

Another good thing about gumballs and other bulk products is the price. Typically, the price of even popular candies such Runts and M&M's are substantially cheaper in bulk form and offer a much better opportunities to increase profit. The pricing structure for a penny gumball typically is not in the 10-25 cent range with the gumball itself still costing just pennies.

Gumball vending machines are a great way to start small and grow a vending business without a lot of the hassles of the more involved product lines.
