Everyone sooner or later needs to get their home carpets and flooring cleaned. Whether this means a visit from a highly profitable carpet cleaning business witht a deep truck mounted machine or a smaller supermarket style rental, the fact is that clean carpets make the whole house simply look better.

The other day, we had to hire a carpet cleaning business to do our carpets before we moved out of our dorm room. Our carpets were so dirty that I'm ashamed to even talk about it, as dirty as a year of two boys living on their own for the first time like animals and partying incessantly can make it.

The fact that it was even usable after such a disaster in the making is a testament to the skill and equipment quality of the cleaner. This is what started me out considering the carpet cleaning business. See, they actually charged us for a whole house cleaning of about 200 dollars but it was still much lower than having all the carpet replaced.

I would hate to think what my parents would say if they had the bill sent to them for carpet replacement. The carpet cleaning business charged a pretty penny, although not as much as I might have expected. When they were done, the carpet was even cleaner when we moved in.

It seemed like a carpet cleaning business hadn't come to clean the room in years before, and the accumulated detritus of years of poor maintenance had discolored the carpets to a mottled gray color.

We didn't care as we filled the place with beer bottles and smelly gym socks anyway. The cleaning person, a small business owner however made a tidy living cleaning up after a lot of people at the college. It was especially busy for him on parent visiting day.

That was the day parents would come by and see the schools and what their student were doing with all the money it was costing. Even with days of preparation, we couldn't get the place in shape but at least the carpets were nice in many dorms.

Before we called the carpet cleaning business, we had just had our farewell party and were packing out to leave for the year. The guests and people coming and going had left the carpets in a state of ghastly filth.

The ground in dirt, along with the spills and food dropping made for such a mess that frankly, I felt the carpet guy had met his match. We weren't so stupid however as not to understand that the carpet cleaning business was badly needed from the mottled and dirty appearance of the rug.
